The Supreme Representative Body of SLNVS

The General Assembly is the highest representative body of Shri Lakshmi Narayani Vigyan Samiti (SLNVS). It brings together founding members, life members, and other eligible members to guide the organization's vision, mission, and long-term development. The Assembly reviews major policies, annual reports, and strategic initiatives while ensuring transparency, accountability, and public welfare. Through collective participation and democratic decision-making, it safeguards the founding principles of SLNVS and provides direction for sustainable social, cultural, educational, and community development programs for the benefit of society.

SLNVS General Assembly Framework

Status

The General Assembly of Shri Lakshmi Narayani Vigyan Samiti (SLNVS) shall be the highest representative and policy-making body of the organization. It shall serve as the supreme forum of members responsible for safeguarding the vision, mission, values, and long-term objectives of the institution.

Composition of the General Assembly

The General Assembly may consist of:

  • Founding Members

  • Life Members

  • Annual Members

  • Honorary Members

  • Special Invitees (when required)

Powers and Authority of the General Assembly

As the supreme representative body of SLNVS, the General Assembly shall have authority over the following matters:

  • Approval of the Vision and Mission of the organization

  • Approval of constitutional and by-law amendments

  • Approval of annual reports and institutional performance reviews

  • Approval of annual financial statements

  • Ratification of major policy decisions

  • Confirmation of the Board of Administration

  • Oversight of the long-term direction of the organization

Meetings of the General Assembly

Annual General Assembly

The General Assembly shall meet at least once every year.

Functions

  • Presentation of the Annual Activity Report

  • Presentation of the Financial Report

  • Review of institutional progress

  • Approval of future plans and programs

  • Discussion of important resolutions and proposals

Special General Assembly

A Special General Assembly may be convened whenever necessary.

Special Role of the General Assembly

Vision Protection Authority

The General Assembly shall ensure that:

  • SLNVS remains committed to its founding objectives.

  • The vision of the Vigyan Mandir Project is preserved.

  • Public welfare and social development remain central to all activities.

  • No leadership body or future administration acts contrary to the core principles of the organization.

Decision-Making Process

Ordinary Resolutions

Ordinary resolutions shall be passed by a simple majority of members present and voting.

Constitutional Amendments

Amendments to the Constitution or By-Laws shall require approval by at least two-thirds (2/3) of the members present and voting.

Amendments Affecting Vision, Mission, and Core Objectives

Any proposal affecting the fundamental Vision, Mission, or Core Objectives of SLNVS shall require:

  • Approval by at least three-fourths (3/4) of the members present and voting; and

  • Recommendation of the Board of Administration.
